The home is functioning in a rented building which does not provide sufficient place for accommodation, we try to give all basic amenities available to the inmates. Round the clock watch is made by the staff for the provision of these facilities without hindrance.
Food for the elder persons are prepared by separate experienced cook. The nearby Dietitian/ Nutritionist are often consulted in preparing nutritious diet and most care is being taken in the way of preparation. The Secretary herself personally tastes their food everyday before its distribution.
Periodical medical officer’s visit has been arranged as a permanent arrangement. Besides this outside medical officers, clinical attendance is also utilized on emergency times thereby all the inmates feel safety on the health care, which carried out by few social minded doctors.
    Television set has been provided for the viewing of the elders. A FM Radio has also been provided. Elder person are enjoying by listening good carnatic, Hindustani music program and make themselves comfortable. Besides these during summer times some of them were moved to Karapakkam Home for a change and for diversion purpose where they enjoyed talking to the Annai Fathima Home children. This short transit camp made them feel happy. On Feb 5th they were taken for a tour for a day where they fed outside the home on that day. These arrangements made them feel good.
World Elder’s day was celebrated on 1st Oct 2004 at the home and the Hon’ble Collector of Chennai Mr.Kannusamy.IAS. Who participated in the function The world Women’s Day was celebrated on 8th Mar 2005 and Hon’ble Mr.G.K.Vasan, the president of Tamil Nadu Congress Committee presided over the function. Besides these, World Mothers day on . All these functions made them feel proud of themselves.
During the year 2004—05 the audited statement revealed the fact that the sum of Rs. 5.51 lakh has been spent for the welfare of these elder persons as against the sanction of Rs.2.27 lakhs as maintenance Grant from the Government of India.
All these facilities and activities will continue for the fourth coming years if we get our continuous support from our sponsors like each and everyone of you.

One among the senior citizen at the age of 95 being given medicine by Mrs.Rani Krishnan. She specially nurses these elderly people by her self as she is very determined that people at this age are like a child and requires special care as given to baby.

Apart from her normal activities Mrs.Rani Krishnan was also the Member of Corporation for full five years and during her service to the Chennai Corporation she fought for the rights on behalf of the public which added more reputation to her, She frequently conducts many competitions which would make the domestic women happy.

The senior citizens of Annai Illam do not just enjoy the entertainment hosted by the children and rather they also entertain the students in return by staging shows such as skits and fancy dress competition. They feel so happy and proud to do things which makes the children happy.
